The dog was in need of food to have milk to feed her puppies. Moreover, they would freeze in the cold weather. But she did not let her puppies alone.
The dog made a hole in the snow, and lay there with her cubs. The pups ate milk, and they lived for a week in such a terrible condition.

The employees of animal shelter from Yellowknife found the poor dog and her puppies in the forest.
The dog had lost a lot of weight, and she had no more milk to feed her cubs.
Thus, the staff of the animals’ shelter took the dog and her cubs to the shelter, called a vet to examine them. The puppies were healthy, but their hero mother needed treatment.
