During a few of her massive tour dates, fans had the opportunity to see a preview of CÉ NOIR.
Following a tease during the last leg of her Renaissance World Tour, Beyoncé revealed that fans who want a piece of the Queen B may now pre-order her new fragrance, CÉ NOIR. After announcing an all-silver wardrobe for fans and concert attendees inspired by disco, the news was first revealed on Instagram yesterday. Today, Bey gave her opinions on the release in her own unboxing video.
“I wanted something to be monolithic. I wanted something to have a little bit of intimacy. Right here, you can see inside the soul of the perfume,” she remarks on the distinctive bottle’s design before dousing herself in the scent. “I actually spray this during the show a few times, gotta keep it fresh. And that is CÉ NOIR, say no more.” Anyone lucky enough to attend a Renaissance show will recall that she sprayed herself with the perfume while she sang “I’m That Girl.”
As per Billboard, a select group of concertgoers who witnessed Beyoncé’s performances in Inglewood, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Tampa, Atlanta, Charlotte, Washington, D.C., and other cities were able to sample the new fragrance prior to its official release. “Top notes of clementine and golden honey, heart notes of rose absolute and jasmine sambac, and base notes of Namibian myrrh and golden amber” is how the perfume’s aroma is described on its official website. It costs $160 for 1.7 fluid ounces and is currently available for pre-purchase; however, those who order it quickly will also receive a bonus item.
Following Rise in 2014, Beyoncé’s CÉ NOIR is her first new scent. Past releases include the 2010 and 2011 albums Heat and Pulse, respectively. What WWD claims is: “Cé Noir, may be a nod to the perfume’s origin, which according to Beyoncé’s website, was created in France. The literal name Cé Noir loosely translates to the phrase ‘this black.'”
