Despite the director’s objections, Margot insisted on filming her iconic scene in its entirety nսde
Producer Martin Scorsese objected to Margot Robbie’s insistence on performing her well-known Wolf of Wall Street scene in its entirety of nude.
The Barbie actress received her big break in the Leonardo DiCaprio-led period picture from 2013.
Despite her “apprehension” about getting naked for her first sex scene, Margot insisted on keeping the scenes as intense as possible.
Margot declined director Scorsese’s offer to “help her out” by making it unnecessary for her to be nude.
When she was just 23 years old, she gave an explanation to The Telegraph in 2014 about the need to find a balance between displays that are necessary and nudity for the sake of it.
“I think it’s shameful to be nude for the sake of being nude,” she remarked. It’s disgusting if they added it merely to make a girl take off her top. Additionally, you can always tell.
However, I also find it repulsive when, in a movie, a person who would have shown up nude in real life conveniently leaves their bra on or holds up the bed sheet.
The choreography involved in covering someone pisses me off just as much.
Margot made the observation that Naomi’s limited ability to use her body as “currency” is “the whole point” of the character.
“So when Marty Scorsese was trying to help me out, I said she wouldn’t have a robe on in the scene where she seduces Jordan,” she continued. She needs to be nude. Her cards are resting on the table.
In 2018, Margot acknowledged that the scene was set in a “tiny bedroom” with a thirty-person all-male crew packed in.
She admitted to Porter magazine, “I’m pretending to be touching myself for 17 hours.” “It’s just a really strange thing, and you have to really commit and bury the absurdity and embarrassment.”
Before the scene, Margot claimed to have taken a “couple of shots of tequila” to calm her nerves. Even so, she continued to believe that the big hit would ignore her.
