The pianist for the sake of a little elephant decided to play the piano in the wild
They say music is medicine for the mind and soul, and that holds true for wildlife too.
Paul is a wildlife lover and a great pianist who has performed to select audiences for over a decade. Since 2011, he has performed Beethoven, Schumann or Grieg musical performances.
The last elephant that followed the music played by Paul is Mongkol, an old bull elephant who had to endure a lot.
Like the others behind him, Mangkol marveled at the way he communicated with him.
“Sometimes Mongkol would stop at the piano while walking along the river.” Paul explained.
Paul performs primarily for the elephants living at Elephant World, a nature reserve on the River Kwai in Kanchanaburi, Thailand. Many of these docile giants have been rescued from logging. it is a practice banned in the country 30 years ago. This psychotherapy, which uses music, has a healing effect on most elephants.
