The actor shared some adorable moments with his youngest child, Ben, the rescue dog.
John Travolta and Peanut, meet the Lady and the Tramp.
The 69-year-old actor recently shared a slice of cheese pizza with Peanut, his son’s dog, and the resulting picture bore a striking resemblance to the famous spaghetti scene from the Disney picture.
The Grease actor shared the image on his Instagram Story on Friday. Travolta is seen taking a large slice while the small dog is standing on the table and tugging at a particularly stringy piece of cheese.
The Pulp Fiction actor posted a new image of his son Benjamin’s dog, Peanut, on social media. This time, the two are shown curled up in bed together, sleeping face to face.
In contrast to a video Travolta posted of himself and the dog in bed last year, the cuddly photo is serene.
The actor shared a cute video of Peanut continuously scratching and licking his face in an effort to prevent getting slobbered in September 2022.
“This is how Ben’s dog Peanut wakes me up,” the video with a caption.
Travolta’s son named the rescue dog, who was originally known as Mac N Cheese, Peanut.
After Jamie Lee Curtis introduced the puppy to the audience at a 2022 Academy Awards special honoring Betty White and her commitment to animal welfare, Travolta adopted the dog for Ben.
About Peanut, her mother, and her three siblings, “they were dumped in a box outside the Avenal Shelter,” co-founder and executive director of animal rescue Paw Works Chad Atkins told PEOPLE. (Paw Works collaborates with the remote Avenal Animal Shelter in Avenal, California.)
Paw Works brought Peanut and her family to their facility to assist in finding foster homes after they were abandoned at the California shelter.
Peanut, who was still going by Mac N Cheese, was the only one in her family who hadn’t found a permanent home as the 2022 Oscars became closer. Thanks to Curtis and a little bit of luck, she was the puppy chosen for the big awards show moment.
The 64-year-old actress filled in for the trained dog that was originally supposed to be featured in the Oscars segment, thanks to the intervention of an animal production business.
“It was actually Jamie Lee Curtis who said, ‘No, no, no, we can’t do that. Betty White is known for her compassion for four-legged friends, and she was always a huge advocate of animal rescue. It has to be a rescue animal,'” To PEOPLE, Atkins said.
Curtis picked Peanut from among the adoptable puppies in Paw Works’ care after receiving pictures and details from the organization’s director. He then brought Peanut onstage for the In Memoriam portion.
While a number of individuals indicated interest in adopting Peanut, Travolta “eye-locked” with the puppy, held her for half an hour, and followed up about adopting her the next day. Atkins kept the puppy for the remainder of the night.

Travolta shared an Instagram picture of himself, Peanut, and the dog’s new owner, his son Ben, in March 2022 to officially announce the adoption. The actor wrote in the photo’s caption, “Ben adopted this dog from last [night’s] Oscar tribute to Betty White.” “Many thanks to @pawworks & @curtisleejamie.”
Atkins said to PEOPLE in April 2022, “so it’s happily ever after for her now,” about the puppy’s future. From the looks of Travolta’s Instagram pictures, it hasn’t been anything but pizza, love, and cuddles since.
