Selena Gomez defended her new relationship with music producer Benny Blanco while acknowledging that she had undergone her first cosmetic procedure.
Selena, 31, alarmed fans by claiming that Benny was ‘the best thing that’s ever happened’ to her, despite the singer’s insistence that she was making the wrong choice after he shaded her in 2020.
Selena stated in a comment that she has been dating Justin Bieber’s friend Benny for six months.
Selena responded to a fan on Instagram who had made disparaging remarks about her appearance.
“Take out your cheek fillers/implants,” one person wrote. It’s interfering with your mental processes,” Selena retorted, laughing, “I’ve had Botox, bb girl.”
The singer had never disclosed previously what kind of cosmetic procedures, if any, she had had.
She has lupus, an autoimmune disease that is chronic and lifelong and can lead to weight gain or loss.
More comments were addressed by the former Disney star, one of which brought up a small remark she had made years prior.
‘If you can’t handle the hate then stop posting pictures of your boyfriend lol, it should be special between you two only,’ a fan commented. Be kind to your fans.
Years earlier, when Justin first revealed his romance with Sofia Richie, the daughter of Lionel Richie, Selena had written nearly the same thing.
Abuse, including racist epithets directed towards Sofia, was directed towards the couple by ‘Jelena’ fans who desired Selena and Justin’s union.
Selena said, “Not mad,” as if she hadn’t noticed the reference. Hey, it’s been six months. Until the day I die, I will always stand up for my friends and supporters.
