It was during Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour when the two initially got together.
Despite only having recently met Meghan Markle at Beyoncé’s Los Angeles Renaissance World Tour performances in September, Kelly Rowland, a former member of Destiny’s Child, claims the two clicked right away because of their shared experiences with marriage, motherhood, and celebrity.
Markle and Rowland were pictured chatting with Kerry Washington at Beyoncé’s birthday shows, where she was joined by a plethora of celebrities, including Kim Kardashian, Adele, Zendaya, Katy Perry, Kate Hudson, Lizzo, Kylie Jenner, Timothée Chalamet, and Kendall Jenner. In a recent interview, Rowland told Hello! Magazine that this was her first time seeing the prince, despite the fact that the trio’s friendship debut went viral.
“It was just nice being there with other great women and being able to just simply talk,” he said, probably alluding to their shared passion for their children. Rowland and her husband Tim Weatherspoon, whom she married in 2014, have two sons together, Titan and Noah. Naturally, the duchess and Prince Harry are parents to their daughter Lilibet and son Archie.
The former royal, Rowland continued, was “very down to earth.”
“I don’t know what people expect to see or to know, but she just felt very cool and very down to earth. She is very warm,” she continued. “She was royal before she was in that family. I think that we are royalty before anything. And we have to hold ourselves in that regard as humans, as people.”
On the third night of the residency, Markle and Rowland attended the concert and were pictured having a good time. Along with her spouse, Prince Harry, mother Doria Ragland, and friend and former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer, Markle also attended one of the other evenings.
